My first reaction on seeing this picture was “ooh! geology reference! studying rocks like they’re books that can tell you about things that have happened!” I do not buy that statistic even remotely. I see a lot of this ZOMGPPLDON’TREAD elitism business around tumblr. And yes, I do know people who don’t read, but few to none have graduated high school, and frankly they have bigger problems. I don’t know about never reading another book, but my Pa graduated from University kinda respectably and doesn’t currently read books because he is too busy, y’know, setting up his second business and so forth. Equally, I used to read two books a week at University and now that’s down to about one a month because I have a job and a disability which just shatters me, so this anyone who doesn’t read is a waaaaaaaster mentality, or whatever, is just like…THEY ARE DOING OTHER THINGS WITH THEIR LIVES WHICH DOESN’T INVOLVE BRAGGING ABOUT MAKING IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE MASTER AND MARGHERITA, I don’t know.
